Pridgen, Morgan

 

 

 


Edith Patricia “Pat” Pridgen, 82, of La Grande, died Aug. 17 at her home. A graveside service begins at 10 a.m. Monday at the Island City Cemetery. A reception will follow at the Island City City Hall.

Pat was born Jan. 12, 1926, to William Albert and Jesse Farrell Smith in Baker City. She was educated in Baker City and graduated from Baker City High School.

She attended Eastern Oregon State College where she obtained her bachelor of arts degree in 1966 and her master’s degree in 1969. She was a member of the Epsilon Sigma Alpha Sorority. Pat had earned her credits for her master’s degree plus 45 more credits.

She married Vern Pridgen in October 1945. She was a kindergarten teacher at Riveria and Central schools.

She loved playing golf, reading, doing crossword puzzles and spending time with her grandkids.

Pat also loved to dance, and her group used to perform at various venues. She collected figurines, mostly clowns.

She is survived by her husband, Vern; son, Patrick and his wife, Cindy; two grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Pat was preceded in death by her brothers, Albert, Charles, Mark and Wilbur; and her sister, Harriet.


Kathryn “Annabelle” Morgan, 55, of Baker City, died Aug. 20. A celebration of Annabelle’s life and a memorial service will begin at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Church of the Nazarene, 1250 Hughes Lane, Baker City. Friends are invited to join the family for a reception immediately following.

Inurnment and committal is planned for 11 a.m. Thursday at Prairie Cemetery in Prairie City. Tami’s Pine Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Jaycee Dunn Memorial, Heart and Home Hospice or any other charity in care of Tami’s Pine Valley Funeral Home, P.O. Box 543, Halfway 97834.
