Frieda Ford

Union


Frieda Ford, 87, of Union, died Dec. 23 at a care home in Cove. A complete obituary will be available later. Loveland Funeral Chapel & Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.


Harold King

Meacham


Harold King, 90, of Meacham, died Dec. 24 at Grande Ronde Hospital. A full obituary will be available later. Loveland Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.


Rose M. Lilly

La Grande


Rose M. Lilly, 88, of La Grande, died Dec. 20 at Grande Ronde Hospital. A recitation of the Rosary will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday at Loveland Funeral Chapel.

A Mass of Christian burial will follow at 11 a.m. Saturday at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church, 1101 Fourth St., La Grande.

A complete obituary will be available later. Loveland Funeral Chapel and Crematory is handling arrangements.


Harold ‘Bill’ Brasure

La Grande

1921-2009


Harold “Bill” Coell Brasure, 88, of La Grande, died Dec. 21 at the Evergreen Care Facility. A memorial service will begin at 3 p.m. Jan. 9 at the American Legion Post No. 43, La Grande. Loveland Funeral Chapel and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.

Bill was born Aug. 2, 1921, to Harry Brasure and Audrey Kirkwood Brasure-Ramsey in Aberdeen, Wash. He was raised and educated in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, and joined the Army to serve in WWII in 1942. He came to the Grande Ronde Valley in the mid-1940s and married Beverly McKlin in 1947. He worked as the regional electrician for Boise Cascade, and also worked for Pepsi and Don & Larry’s Distributing.

Bill was a member of the La Grande City Volunteer Fire Department, American Legion Post No. 43, VFW and a honorary member of the Umatilla Tribal Council. He enjoyed hunting, camping, fishing and spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his sons, Mike Brasure of La Grande and Steve and his wife, Donna Brasure, of Lake Oswego; sister, Jacque Punches of

La Grande; several grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Beverly; and son, Les.
