Grace Elliott

La Grande

1917-2011

Grace Elliott, 94, of La Grande, died Dec. 3 at Grande Ronde Hospital. A celebration of life will begin at 10 a.m. Friday at Loveland Funeral Chapel. A viewing will run from 8:30 to 9:30 Friday at Loveland Funeral Chapel.

Grace was born April 22, 1917, to Allman and Bertha (Bunch) White in Roosevelt, Mo. She was raised and educated there.

Grace married Chester Elliott on Nov. 24, 1936, in West Plains, Mo. She loved to quilt and do needlework. She enjoyed gardening.

Grace was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and two infant sons. She is survived by her children, Della Hicks of Independence, Mo., Wayne and Mearlene Elliott of Island City, Mava and Joseph Lorson of Jacksonville, N.C., Thurmon and Linda Elliott of Island City, Dan Elliott of Veneta and Ken and Trudy Elliott of Middleton, Idaho; sister, Eunice and Harold Adams of Willow Springs, Mo.; a brother, Tom and Sue White of Willow Springs, Mo.; 12 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Thomas James Mayberry

Formerly of La Grande

Thomas James Mayberry, 21, of Fort Bliss, Texas, and formerly of La Grande, died Dec. 3 in Afghanistan. A celebration of life with full military honors will be announced later. Loveland Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.

Thelma Barker

La Grande

Thelma Barker, 103, of La Grande, died Dec. 6 at a local care center. A full obituary will be available later. Loveland Funeral Chapel and Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.

Norman Masterson

La Grande

Norman Masterson, 86, of La Grande, died Dec. 6 in Boise, Idaho. Arrangements will be announced later by Daniels-Knopp Funeral, Cremation and Life Celebration Center.
