Glenn E. Abel
Glenn E. Abel, 93, of La Grande, died Feb. 27 at his home. A full obituary will be available later. Loveland Funeral Chapel & Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.
Bonnie DeBoie, 94, of La Grande, died Feb. 27 at Grande Ronde Hospital. Daniels-Knopp Funeral, Cremation & Life Celebration Center is in charge of the arrangements.
David E. Gilbert
David Erwin Gilbert, 72, of Joseph, died Feb. 27. A memorial service will be planned for later. A full obituary will be available later. Bollman Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Forrest W. Gray
Forrest Walter Gray, 90, of La Grande, died Feb. 25 at a local care center. A celebration of life will begin at 3 p.m. March 11 at Daniels-Knopp Funeral, Cremation & Life Celebration Center, 1502 Seventh St. in La Grande. A full obituary will be available later.
Formerly of Wallowa County
Bert Hamilton, 66, formerly of Wallowa County, died Feb. 11 at his home outside of Chino Valley, Ariz.
A celebration of life will run from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Outlaw Restaurant banquet room, 108 N. Main St. in Joseph. Friends are invited to stop by and share their stories. Chino Valley Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
He was born Jan. 26, 1946, in The Dalles. He grew up and went to school in Wheeler County. When he was old enough to be accepted, he enlisted in the Navy Seabees, serving overseas in Okinawa, Japan and Vietnam.
He spent his life working in the timber and heavy construction industries.
Those who knew Bert say he had a great love for people. His family and the many people in his life were the most important thing to him.
Rodeo was a big part of his life. In lieu of flowers, an account has been set up at National Bank of Arizona in his name for donations to the Justin Cowboy Crisis Fund, which helps injured cowboys.
Alice A. Needham
Alice Anne Needham, 52, of Cove, died while being transferred by Life Flight from La Grande to Portland Feb. 18. At her request, there will be no services.
Alice was born Aug. 20, 1959, in La Grande to Elmer Lee Locken and Irene Alice (Miller) Locken. Her family lived in Joseph and Cove.
She married Gary Needham and they became the parents of two children. Alice and Gary were married for 31 years.
Alice was a certified nurse assistant and a caregiver for more than 20 years. She enjoyed tole painting, watching Little League baseball, fishing, hunting, mushrooming and spending time at the cabin.
Alice is survived by her husband, Gary; her two sons and their spouses, Nick and Julie Needham of Grangeville, Idaho, and Nate and Holli Needham of La Grande; siblings, Bill Locken of Enterprise, Dan (Cheryl) Locken of Cove, John Locken of Pendleton and Anita Lagoy of Vancouver, Wash.; three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Irene; and her two uncles, Dale Miller and Dallas Miller.
Memorial contributions may be made to any charity in care of Loveland Funeral Chapel, 1508 Fourth St., La Grande, OR 97850.
