Marian ‘Mimi’ Goldberg La Grande 1939-2012
Marian was born March 11, 1939, in Helena, Mont., to Kenneth and Rachel (Munson) James. She earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Alaska Southeast in 1993 and a master’s in social work from Walla Walla College in 1995. She became a licensed clinical social worker and trained others for the University of Alaska in Anchorage. In 2002, she joined Julie Farnam at Kindred Support Services LLC in La Grande and counseled many children and families in Baker and Union counties. Marian loved yoga, tai chi, working out, getting massages, picnics and hiking with their Australian shepherd, Choc. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, drinking lattes, watching movies, traveling, skiing and reading mysteries, especially the Mrs. Pollifax series. Marian is survived by her husband, C.J. Bryan; brothers, Rick (Nancy) James of La Grande and Ralph (Linda) James of Eugene; children, Laurie Goldberg-Foremen (Joe) of Loveland, Colo., Cynthia Goldberg of Anchorage, and Britton Goldberg (Alice) of Aurora, Colo.; and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by parents, Rachel and Kenneth James; brother, Donald James; and first husband, Ronald Goldberg. Memorial contributions may be sent to the Cancer Research Center or any children’s charity in care of Loveland Funeral Chapel, 1508 Fourth St., La Grande, OR 97850.
Richard A. Price Enterprise 1949-2012
Richard was born Dec. 26, 1949, in Medford. His parents were Roy and Betty (Pilgram) Price. He married Ruth Anne Morgan in December of 2000. Rich was a logger most of his life. He was a handy man of numerous trades. Rich loved to hunt and fish. He loved being in the woods. Rich supplied many people in the area with firewood while living in Wallowa County. For many years, he worked at the Shell Station in Enterprise. Rich was a member of Enterprise Christian Church. Rich is survived by his wife, Ruth Anne; mother, Betty Price; brothers, Gary and Kenny; children, Wendy, Melissa, Jason, Ada and Amanda; step-children, Katherine Ladwig and Travis Morgan; 11 grandchildren; and one-great-grandchild. Richard’s father, Roy, preceded him in death in 2003. In lieu of flowers, an account has been set up at Community Bank to help pay for medical and other expenses.
