Heather Lyn Stout La Grande
La Grande 1933-2011
Bud was born Nov. 13, 1933, to Alberto “Bert” Winterton and Cuba Buchannan Winterton in La Grande. Bud spent his early years in Wallowa. His family moved to La Grande where he attended Riveria Elementary and graduated from La Grande High School. On Nov. 13, 1952, he married Marilyn Bruins. They were later divorced. He was employed by Boise Cascade for 44 years. Bud enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and bench-rest shooting. He loved spending time with his family. He was a member of the NRA and the La Grande Rifle and Pistol Club. Surviving are his two sons, Randy Winterton and his wife, Terri, of La Grande, and Rick Winterton of La Grande; two brothers, Delbert Eugene “Gene” Winterton and his wife, Connie, of Cookeville, Tenn., and Jerald “Jerry” Winterton of La Grande; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Bud was preceded in death by his parents, Bert and Cuba; and his grandson, Jerrod Winterton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in care of Loveland Funeral Chapel.
Union 1932-2011
Nellie was born Feb. 20, 1932, to James Aurora "Dick" and Nellie Elizabeth (McClellan) Robertson in La Grande. She was raised in Union and graduated from Union High School. On Oct. 29, 1949, she married Darrell D. Wood in La Grande. She worked in the laundry and kitchen at Hot Lake Sanitarium and later worked in the kitchen at Grande Ronde Hospital. They moved to Wallowa in 1980 and returned to Union in 1993. She was an avid reader who also enjoyed flowers and gardening. She loved spending time with her family. Survivors include her husband, Darrell Wood of Union; children and their spouses, Tony and Patricia Wood of Union and Dawna and Lennie Murrill of Pasco, Wash.; brother, Don and his wife, Diana Wood, of Union; sister, Shirley Shanks of Union; sister-in-law, Carol and Michael Hawthorne of Welches; brother-in-law, Duane and Chris Wood of Pendleton; sister-in-law, Eleanor Wood of Bend; seven grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her son, Dale Wood. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the GRH Hospice in care of Daniels-Knopp Funeral, Cremation and LIfe Celebration Center, 1502 Seventh St., La Grande 97850. |
