Ansell, Anson, Larkin, Cox
Lewis James Ansell, 89, of Klamath Falls and formerly of Union County, died May 24. A celebration of life will begin at 11 a.m. July 4 at Grandview Cemetery in La Grande. Loveland Funeral Chapel & Crematory is in charge of arrangements Claude Anson, 97, of La Grande, died June 23 at a local care center. Daniels-Knopp Funeral, Cremation & Life Celebration Center is in charge of arrangements.
Alice Herrmann Larkin, 94, formerly of Union County, died March 9 in Seattle. A graveside service will begin at 10 a.m. Aug. 8 at Island City Cemetery. A reception will follow at the First Christian Church in La Grande. Loveland Funeral Chapel and Crematory is in charge of arrangements. Doris Elva Cox, 71, of La Grande, died May 27 at a local care center. A memorial service for Doris and her daughter, Earlene Nelson, who died on March 19, 2007, will begin at 3 p.m. Friday at Daniels-Knopp Funeral, Cremation & Life Celebration Center, 1502 Seventh St. in La Grande. Doris was born Sept. 18, 1937, to Elmer George and Edith Marie (Johnson) Cox in Falfa, Colo. During her lifetime she was active with the Salvation Army and their kettle work, especially in Pendleton. From 1952 to 1954 she was a plane spotter for the government in Union County. She served as a 4-H leader and was very family oriented. She enjoyed crafting and crocheting. Survivors include her daughters, Leona Cox of La Grande and Karen Clair of Pendleton; brothers, Walter of La Grande, Hank of Riddle, George of Portland and Norman of Vancouver; sisters, Marie Johnson of Pendleton, Ellen Moody of Woodland, Wash., Donna Chapin of Pendleton and Mina Burton of Pendleton; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and other relatives. She was preceded in death by sons, Eugene and Frank Shaefer in 1970; daughter, Earlene; and sisters, Ruth Barrett and Sarah Cox. |
