Shepherd, End, Stoop Robert Allen Shepherd, 91, formerly of Elgin, died June 21 in Prosser, Wash. A graveside service will begin at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Elgin where he will be laid to rest beside his beloved wife, Geneva. A memorial service will begin at 3 p.m. at Elgin Baptist Church. The service will be officiated by Roger Cochran of Trinity Baptist Church. Daniels-Knopp Funeral, Cremation and Life Celebration Center is in charge of arrangements. Robert was born June 29, 1917, in Silverton to Floyd and Marjorie Shepherd. He had one older brother, Paul Shepherd, who preceded him in death. He married Geneva Farris Feb. 11, 1939, who preceded him in death also. He spent much of his early adult years working in logging camps in the Oregon Coast Range, then moved and settled with his family in Scotts Mills. In the early 1960s he moved to Baker City where he worked on ranches in the Imbler and Elgin areas before settling in Elgin where he lived until the last year of his life before moving to Prosser. Survivors include two children, David Shepherd and his wife, Judy Shepherd of Prosser, and Sarah Fine of Olympia, Wash.; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Northeast Oregon Christian Cowboys, 67828 Grays Corner Road, Imbler 97841 or in care of Daniels-Knopp Funeral, Cremation & Life Celebration Center, 1502 Seventh St. in La Grande. Charles “Dick” End, 82, of La Grande, died June 26 at Grande Ronde Hospital. At his request there will be no public service. A full obituary will be published later by Daniels-Knopp Funeral, Cremation & Life Celebration Center. Stella “Nadean” Stoop, 89, of Island City, died June 25 at Grande Ronde Hospital.
