LOCAL FUNERALS AND VISITATIONS Nov. 15 — Willis Ketchem, celebration of life, 2 p.m., Summerville Cemetery Chapel
Formerly of La Grande Georgene Critchlow, 89, formerly of La Grande, died Nov. 9 in Pendleton. Daniels-Knopp Funeral, Cremation & Life Celebration Center is in charge of arrangements.

Union Frank Hoyt, 99, of Union, died this morning at a local care center. Daniels-Knopp Funeral, Cremation & Life Celebration Center is in charge of the arrangements.
Cove 1936-2011 Willis Franklin Ketchem, 75, of Cove, died Nov. 9 at Grande Ronde Hospital in La Grande. A celebration of life service will begin at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Summerville Cemetery Chapel. Burial will be in the Summerville Cemetery. A viewing for family and friends will run from 4 to 6 today at Loveland Funeral Chapel. Willis was born Feb. 10, 1936, in Union Star, Mo., to Thomas Franklin Ketchem and Mariam (Pierce) Ketchem. He graduated from Savannah High School in 1953. On June 10, 1953, he married Mae Lorraine Swartz in St. Joseph, Mo. They moved to the Grande Ronde Valley where Willis became a self-employed farmer. In 1991, he was awarded the Oregon Cattleman of the Year. He was a member of the Oregon Wheat League and served on the Imbler School Board. He enjoyed basketball and spending time with his family. Willis is survived by his daughter, Mary Jane “MJ” Ketchem-Muilenburg of Alicel; son, Lloyd Franklin Ketchem of Medford; two siblings, Wanda Lorraine Ketchem-Shupe of Stansbury, Mo., and David Lynn Ketchem of Auburn, Calif.; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and 12 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mae; his parents; and his siblings, Vivian Estella Ketchem, Ethelda Jane Jones, Quentin Pierce Ketchem and Douglas Dale Ketchem. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lions Eye Bank in care of Loveland Funeral Chapel.
