Myrna H. Collins

Elgin

1928-2011

Myrna Helen Collins, 83, of Elgin, died Nov. 14 at Robin’s Nest Adult Family Home. A celebration of her life was held Nov. 18 at Flying J Travel Center in La Grande. A graveside service was held Nov. 19 at Summerville Cemetery.

Myrna was born June 23, 1928, in Denver to Warren and Pearlie (Morehead) Springer. She was the only daughter of 10 siblings.

She came to Eastern Oregon as a child and lived at the Starkey Logging Camp. She graduated from La Grande High School in 1946.

She married Raymond Frank Collins Aug. 6, 1946. He preceded her in death on Aug. 23, 1993.

Myrna was very active with the Class of 1946, their regular gatherings and reunions. She was a member of the Elgin Service Club for many years. She enjoyed making doll houses, gambling, reading, puzzles and spending time with her family.

Survivors include her four daughters and their spouses, Katherine Wahl of Elgin, Colleen Bynum of Denver, Christine Brown of La Grande and Sharon Sharp of Elgin; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Class of 1946 in care of Daniels-Knopp Funeral, Cremation & Life Celebration Center, 1502 Seventh St., La Grande, OR 97850.

Jack Moore, 86, of La Grande, died Nov. 21 at a local care center. A full obituary will be available later. Loveland Funeral Chapel and Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.

Fred Stockoff, 55, of La Grande, died Nov. 20 at Grande Ronde Hospital. Daniels-Knopp Funeral, Cremation & Life Celebration Center is in charge of the arrangements.

Union

Orval Tyler, 88, of Union, died Nov. 20 at a local care center. Daniels-Knopp Funeral, Cremation & Life Celebration Center is in charge of arrangements.
