Jason B. Werst

Formerly of Wallowa, La Grande


Jason B. Werst, 40, formerly of Wallowa and La Grande, died Oct. 30 at home in Nampa, Idaho. A memorial service will be held at the Nampa, Idaho, Civic Center at 1 p.m. Sunday. Bowman Funeral Parlor of Garden City, Idaho, is in charge of arrangements.

 


 

Irene Mae Crampton

La Grande

1925-2011


Irene Mae Crampton, 85, of La Grande, died Oct. 28. Private burial will be at Summerville Cemetery. Daniels-Knopp Funeral, Cremation & Life Celebration Center is in charge of arrangements.

Irene was born Dec. 24, 1925, in La Grande to Lewis Franklin and Julia Victoria (Merchant) Crist. She was raised and educated in La Grande.

On Nov. 3, 1943, she married Ralph Crampton in La Grande where they lived for 20 years. In 1963 they moved to Sisley Creek (outside of Durkee) and sold peaches from their orchard.

Irene was a homemaker all her life. She loved the outdoors and gardening. She also loved children and was a Sunday school teacher for many years.

Survivors include her children, Wayne and his wife, Carlene, of Island City, Fred and his wife, Sharon, of La Grande, Anna Leach of New Meadows, Idaho, and Jim of Gresham; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sisters, Dorothy Hunt of California, Elsie Gaines of Walla Walla and Betty Cooper of Portland; and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ralph; two sons, John Franklin and Don Howard; and two sisters, Vivian Hartle and Harriet Rhoads.
