1920-2011

Estella Marian West, 91, formerly of Union, died Sept. 9 at her home in Milwaukie. A graveside service will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Union Cemetery. A gathering was held at her home with family and friends on Oct. 1.

She was born Jan. 3, 1920, in Cove to David and Eva (Millman) Lloid. She attended school in Cove.

She married Donald C. West on July 8, 1936, in Walla Walla. They lived in Union and had three children. While living in Union, she was active in Eastern Star. She enjoyed doing ceramics, square dancing, water skiing, camping, fishing and being in the company of many friends and family. She and Don moved to Milwaukie, and after retirement, made many winter trips to Arizona as “snowbirds.”

Estella is survived by her son, Duane, and his wife, Barbara, of Alicel; daughter, Janel West of Milwaukie; son, Roger, and his wife, Betty, of Oregon City; seven grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Helen Marie; her husband, Donald; brothers, Alvin, Ren, Ben and Everett Lloid; and sisters, Vera Fulp, Dora Boyer, Ada Collins and Helen DeBorde.
