Delpha was born Oct. 14, 1936, in Enterprise to Byron and Lois (McCormack) Daggett. She graduated from Gresham High School and acquired her undergraduate degree from Oregon State University, where she was a proud Beaver fan. In 1966 she earned a master’s degree from the University of Oregon, and remained a dedicated, loyal Duck. Delpha taught at Thurston High School and was a founding teacher at Lane Community College in Springfield, where she had a long and distinguished career as a physical education professor and coach. She was also a strong supporter of local businesses and events in Lane County. Delpha enjoyed gardening, fishing and spending time with her beloved cat, Tweetie Pie. Survivors include her siblings and their spouses, Bill and Sandi Daggett of Eagle, Idaho, and Peggy Simpson and Alvin Guy of Walla Walla; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; and many relatives in Wallowa County.
