Ambrosek, Wilhelm

Barbara Jane “Janie” Ambrosek, 61, of Tucson, Ariz., and formerly of La Grande, died Aug. 24. A celebration of her life will begin at 5 p.m. Oct. 11 at her home. Desert Sunset Funeral Home in Tucson is in charge of arrangements.

Janie was born March 9, 1948, to Orpha Mae Maupin and Richard Jones in Winfield, Kan. She was adopted by Glenn and Mary Kay Robertson in 1951. She grew up in Salina, Kan., and graduated from the University of Kansas in 1970.

Although she spent more than 25 years as a manager of federal and state of Oregon projects and programs, Janie said the best job she had was the years she spent taking care of her two grandsons.

Those who knew her say Janie was compassionate, courageous and forever willing to walk in the fire for her family.

She is survived by her husband, Jim Ambrosek; son, Todd and his wife, Traci Hansberry; two grandsons; and a niece.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Southern Arizona.

Ray Wilhelm, 77, of Elgin, passed away at his residence Sept. 5. A complete obituary will be published later. Loveland Funeral Chapel & Crematory is handling the arrangments.
