Request for Applications

Region 13 Workforce Response Team is accepting applications for Employer Workforce Training Funds. The funds are for training to support the retention and growth of quality jobs, a skilled workforce, and enhance the competitiveness of businesses in Baker, Union and Wallowa Counties. The emphasis of the funds is to upgrade skills of the private sector workforce in order to increase productivity, keep businesses viable and competitive, and to offer new skills and opportunities to workers.

Businesses interested in applying for training grant funds will need to complete an application and submit it by e-mail. Electronic applications* are available by contacting Teri Simonis, Training & Employment Consortium, 541.963.7942 or may be downloaded from the website, at www.trainingemployment.org. *If an electronic copy is not possible, contact the above number for other arrangements.

Approximately $100,000 is available in the region. Applications will be accepted till all funds have been awarded. The first deadline for consideration is November 16, 2007.

Employer Workforce Training Fund is made possible by grant funds from the U.S. Department of Labor, Employment and Training Adminis-tration and made possible by the Workforce Investment Act of 1998; a total of $111,975.
