Union County, Oregon, invites bids for the construction of Catherine Creek (Miller Lane) Bridge - 2007. The work to be performed under this contract consists of construction of a new precast prestressed concrete deck bulb tee beam bridge over Catherine Creek in Union County. The work includes, but is not limited to, installation of 360 feet of driven HP12x53 steel piles, approximately 70 cubic yards of structural concrete, 456 feet of precast prestressed concrete deck bulb tee beams, 180 feet of two-tube curb-mount bridge rail, 150 feet of guardrail, removal of the existing bridge, and other work specified and/or shown on the Drawings. The OWNER will construct all roadwork, including fencing, clearing and grubbing, road excavation and embankment, aggregate base, asphalt concrete paving, and seeding and mulching.

The Contract substantial completion date is November 30, 2007. All work below the ordinary high water line must be completed between July 1 and October 15, 2007, according to permit requirements.

Sealed bids for the described project will be received by Marlene Perkins or her authorized representative, at the Union County Administrative Office, 1106 K Avenue, La Grande, Oregon 97850, until 2:00 p.m., local time, May 17, 2007. Bids will be publicly opened and read aloud at the same location, time, and date that bids are due. This project is being paid for by funds received by the OWNER from the Oregon Transportation Investment Act (OTIA). These funds are non-federal funds. The Contract is subject to the applicable provisions of ORS 279C.800 through ORS 279C.870 and the Oregon Prevailing Wage Law.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the North Powder City Council, in a special meeting on Wednesday, May 9th, 7:00 p.m., at the North Powder school band room will consider a land use appeal submitted by Darryl Brown of an administrative decision.

The property is a land locked lot located in between 560 F Street and 745 6th Street. It is also described as Twp. 6S, Range 39E, Section 22BD, Tax Lot 600 and is in the residential zone.

Mr. Darryl Brown is appealing the denial of a building permit to put a manufactured home on the property listed above because it does not have street access. Applicable Land Use Regulations are found in the North Powder Zoning Ordinance 1983-3 Section 8.09 and the City's Transportation System Plan (Ordinance 2003-1) in Table 9. Testimony will be accepted at this hearing and will be limited to 5 minutes per person. Failure of an issue to be raised in this hearing, in person or by letter, or failure to provide statements or evidence sufficient to afford the City Council on opportunity to respond to the issue precludes an appeal to the board based on that issue.

NOTICE OF BUDGET

COMMITTEE MEETING

A public meeting of the Budget Committee of the Elgin School District, Union County, State of Oregon, to discuss the budget for the fiscal year July 1, 2007, to June 30, 2008, will be held at 111 So. 15th Street, Elgin, Oregon. The meeting will take place on the 16th day of May, 2007, at 6:00 p.m. The purpose of the meeting is to receive the budget message and to receive comment from the public on the budget. A copy of the budget document may be inspected or obtained on or after May 16, 2007, at 111 So. 15th Street, Elgin, Oregon, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.

This is a public meeting where deliberations of the Budget Committee will take place. Any person may appear at the meeting and discuss the proposed programs with the Budget Committee.
