The City of La Grande, Oregon, invites bids for the construction of Gekeler Lane Roadway Improvements - 2007.

The Base Bid work generally consists of providing and placing approximately 4,600 tons of base rock, approximately 4,300 tons of hot-mix asphalt concrete pavement, approximately 4,000 lineal feet of sidewalk, approximately 8,300 lineal feet of concrete curb and gutter, approximately 1,600 lineal feet of storm sewer piping, and other related work. Subgrade earthwork and aggregate base rock work for the project will be performed by Union County. Additive alternative work, project budget permitting, may include approximately 875 lineal feet of sidewalk.

Sealed bids for the described project will be received by Dan Chevalier, Public Works Director, or his authorized representative, of the City of La Grande at the La Grande City Shops, 800 X Avenue, La Grande, Oregon 97850, until 2:00 p.m., local time, March 28, 2007. Bids will be publicly opened and read aloud at 2:15 p.m., local time, the same day, at the Anderson-Perry Conference Center, 409 N. Fir Street, La Grande, Oregon 97850. The time for substantial completion shall be one hundred (100) calendar days.

The Contract is subject to the applicable provisions of ORS 279C.800 through ORS 279C.870, the Oregon Prevailing Wage Law. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids upon finding it is in the public interest to do so.

Copies of the Contract Documents may be obtained at the office of Anderson-Perry & Associates, Inc., 1901 N. Fir Street, P.O. Box 1107, La Grande, Oregon 97850, upon non-refundable payment of $100.00 for each set. The Contractor shall provide his mailing address and telephone and fax numbers when plans are requested. The Contract Documents will be available after March 12, 2007.

Minority and women-owned businesses requesting plans should indicate they are a minority firm at the time they request plans so they may be listed on the Planholders List as a minority.

A pre-bid conference will be held at 10:00 a.m., local time, on March 20, 2007. The pre-bid conference will be held at the Anderson-Perry Conference Center, 409 N. Fir Street, La Grande, Oregon 97850. Representatives of the Owner and Engineer will be present to discuss the project. Bidders are encouraged to attend and participate in the conference.

Meeting Notice

The Union County Smoke Management Committee will hold a meeting on Tuesday, April 3 at 10:00 a.m. in the Misener Conference Room, 1001, 4th Street, La Grande. Topics of discussion will include a review of the 2006 field burning season and a program review for 2007.

NOTICE OF BUDGET

COMMITTEE MEETING

A public meeting of the Budget Committee of the Cove Cemetery Maintenance District, Union, State of Oregon, to discuss the budget for the fiscal year July 1, 2007 to June 30, 2008, will be held at 69800 Haefer Lane, Cove, Oregon. The meeting will take place on the 4th April, 2007 at 7:00 P.M. The purpose of the meeting is to receive the budget message and to receive comment from the public on the budget. A copy of the budget document may be inspected or obtained on or after April 5, 2007 at 69800 Haefer Lane, Cove, Between the hours of 8:00 A.M. and 10:00 A.M.

This is a public meeting where deliberation of the Budget Committee will take place. Any person may appear at the meeting and discuss the proposed programs with the Budget Committee.
