WHEREAS, the Common Council, City of Island City, has received signed consents of annexation for property described as:

A tract of land situated in the Southeast quarter of the Southeast quarter of Section 33, Township 2 South, Range 38 East of the Willamette Meridian, and in the Northeast quarter of the Northeast quarter of Section .4, Township 3 South, Range 38 East of the Willamette Meridian,

Beginning at the Northeast corner of said Section 4,

Thence; South 035'20" West, along the East line of said Section 4, a distance of 273.40 feet, to the Northerly right of way of the Joseph Branch of the Union Pacific Railroad,

Thence; South 5841'21" West, along said Northerly line, a distance of 467.73 feet, to the Southeasterly corner of that tract of land granted to Michael J. and Marilyn E. Bowen by deed microfilm number 962565,

Thence; North 3118'38" West, along the Easterly line of said Bowen tract, a distance of 270.91 feet, to the Northeast corner thereof,

Thence; South 5841'21" West, along the North line of said Bowen tract, a distance of 298.37 feet, to the Northwest corner thereof, said point being on the Easterly line of that tract granted by dedication deed to Union County, by deed microfilm number 975974,

Thence; North 3118'38" West, along the exterior of said Union County tract, a distance of 78.09 feet, to the Point of Curvature of a 70.00 ft. radius curve right,

Thence; Northwesterly around said curve right a distance of 38.25 feet (long chord bears North 1539'19" West, 37.78 feet), to the Point of Tangency of said curve right,

Thence; North, along the exterior of said Union County tract, a distance of 130.32 feet,

Thence; South 8958'40" West, along the exterior of said Union County tract, a distance of 60.00 feet,

Thence; South, along the exterior of said Union County tract, a distance of 130.29 feet, to the Point of Curvature of a 130.00 ft. radius curve left,

Thence; Southeasterly, around said curve, and along the exterior of said Union County tract, a distance of 71.04 feet, (long chord bears South 1539'19" East, a distance of 70.16 feet), to the Point of Tangency of said curve left,

Thence; South 3118'38" East, along the exterior of said Union County tract, a distance of 349.00 feet, to the Northerly right of way of the Joseph Branch of the Union Pacific Railroad,

Thence; South 5841'21" West, along said Northerly line, a distance of 723.10 feet, to the West line of the Northeast quarter of the Northeast quarter of said Section 4,

Thence; North 018'42" East, along said West line, a distance of 1085.12 feet, to the Northwest corner of the Northeast quarter of the Northeast quarter of said Section 4,

Thence; North 001'16" West, along the West line of the Southeast quarter of the Southeast quarter of Section 33 of Township 2 South, Range 38 East, a distance of 215.83 feet,

Thence; South'8952'47" East, a distance of 628.18 feet,

Thence; North 4459'11" East, a distance of 143.31 feet,

Thence; North 734'45" East, a distance of 192.91 feet,

Thence; North 2933'12" East, a.distance of 147.47 feet,

Thence; North 8222'30" East, a distance of 497.20 feet, to the East line of said Section 33, said point being the Northwest corner of Parcel 1 of Minor Partition Plat Number 1999-07, as fined in the office of the Union County Clerk,

Thence; South 000'26" East, along said East line, a distance of 707.97 feet, to the Point of Beginning of this description,

Said tract containing 30.56 Acres (1,330,992 sq. ft.)

ALL SITUATE IN the County of Union, State of Oregon.

to the City of Island City, Oregon;

WHEREAS, ORS. 222.120 provides for such annexation;

NOW, THEREFORE, the Common Council directs that a public hearing be held on March 12, 2007, at 7:00 p.m. in the Island City City Hall at 10605 Island Avenue, Island City, Oregon, at which time registered voters of the City may appear and be heard on the question of annexation, a public hearing concerning the zoning of said properties will be held at the same location.

Union county is currently accepting applications for funding for transportation of elderly and people with disabilities in Union County. Funds may be used for maintenance of existing transportation programs and services or planning and development of services for those not currently served. Current providers of transportation for elderly and people with disabilities including cities, counties, districts, agencies, nonprofit corporations and private operations, are eligible recipients. Funds will be available beginning July 1, 2007, for fiscal year ending June 30, 2008. Application information can be obtained at the Union County Commissioners' Office, 1106 K Avenue, La Grande. Completed applications must be returned by April 5, 2007.
