NOTICE OF BUDGET COMMITTEE MEETING: Notice is hereby given, pursuant to ORS 294.401, that a meeting of the Budget Committee of the North Powder School District 8J, Union County, will be held on the 28 day of April, 2009, at 7:00pm., for the purpose of receiving the budget message and budget document of the district for the fiscal year 2009-2010. The meeting will be held at the Powder Valley School in the Music Room. This is a public meeting where deliberations of the Budget Committee will take place, and any person may appear and comment on proposed programs with the Budget Committee at that time. A copy of the budget document will be available at the time of the meeting. The following dates are the time and place of the scheduled additional Budget Committee Meetings that will be held to take public comment and review budget document. Date May 5, 2009 and May 12, 2009, at 7:00pm in the Powder Valley School Music Room.

PUBLIC NOTICE – PROPOSED LAND USE AMENDMENTS
This is to notify you that the City of La Grande is proposing amendments to the Land Development Code and Comprehensive Plan Ordinances, which pertain to properties within the City of La Grande and the La Grande Urban Growth Boundary.
These amendments update land use regulations that may affect the permissible uses of your property and other properties, and may change the value of your property.
The City of La Grande Planning Commission will hold a Public Hearing during the currently scheduled April 14, 2009 meeting, at 6:00 p.m. in the City Hall Council Chambers at 1000 Adams Avenue, La Grande, Oregon, to review the proposed amendments.
The City of La Grande City Council will subsequently hold a Public Hearing during the currently scheduled May 6, 2009 meeting, at 6:00 p.m. in the City Hall Council Chambers at 1000 Adams Avenue, La Grande, Oregon. The proposed ordinances will be read for the first time by title only. The Public Hearing may be continued to the June 2009, Regular Session, which will be held in the same time and location as noted above.
Amendment Summary

Amendments to the Land Development Code to allow chickens and support 4-H Projects in Residential Zones; amendments in land use definitions, outdoor lighting requirements, historic standards, signage standards and other various housekeeping amendments. These amendments affect Articles 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 2.2, 2.3, 3.2, 3.3, 3.5, 3.15, 3.18, 4.2, 4.3, 4.6, 5.3, 5.5, 5.6, 5.8, 6.1, 6.2, 6.3, 6.4, 6.6, 8.1, 8.2, 8.3, 8.4, 8.5, 8.6, 8.7, 8.8, 8.11, 9.1, 9.2, 9.5, 10.1, 10.2, 10.3.
Amendments to the Comprehensive Plan include Goal 5 – Identifying historic buildings to be preserved and protected & adopt Landscape and Urban Forestry Master Plan; Goal 6 – Incorporating changes to the UPRR diesel fuel contamination area; Goal 9 - incorporate amendments resulting from an Economic Development study prepared by The Benkendorf Associates Corp.
Copies of the proposed ordinances and the Staff Report will be available for review at the City of La Grande Planning Division located at 1000 Adams Avenue, La Grande, Oregon, seven (7) days before the Planning Commission Hearing. Copies of the proposed ordinances and the Staff Report will be available for purchase at that time, at a cost of $0.25 per page.
