NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
FIRST READING OF ORDINANCE BY TITLE ONLY
Notice is hereby given in accordance with ORS 271.110, that the La Grande City Council will conduct a Public Hearing during its regular meeting on Wednesday, January 19, 2011, which begins at 6:00 p.m., in the City Hall Council Chambers, 1000 Adams Avenue, La Grande, Oregon. The Public Hearing may be continued to the subsequently scheduled, February, 2011, Regular Session of the City Council. The Hearing is to consider an application to vacate the South ten feet (10’) of “Z” Avenue; the West ten feet (10’) of First Street; the North ten feet (10’) of “Y” Avenue; and, the entire alley; all lying adjacent to or within Block 25 of RIVERSIDE ADDITION to La Grande; 609 “Y” Avenue, T3S, R38E, Section 6AD, Tax Lots 1900 and 2000, La Grande, Union County, Oregon. The Application was filed by Phillip Hergert on October 26, 2010, and was accepted by the La Grande City Council on November 17, 2010.
Pursuant to Section 33. of the City of La Grande Charter, the following entitled Ordinance is scheduled to be read for the first time by title only at the above-mentioned City Council meeting:
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LA GRANDE, OREGON, VACATING THE SOUTH TEN FEET OF “Z” AVENUE; THE WEST TEN FEET OF FIRST STREET; THE NORTH TEN FEET OF “Y” AVENUE; AND, THE ENTIRE ALLEY, ALL LYING ADJACENT TO OR WITHIN BLOCK 25 OF RIVERSIDE ADDITION TO THE CITY OF LA GRANDE, , UNION COUNTY, OREGON; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
The applicable land use regulations are found in Chapter 8, Article 8.10 of the City of La Grande Land Development Code Ordinance Number 3081, Series 2009; and ORS Chapter 271. Failure to raise a specific issue at the Public Hearings precludes appeal to the Oregon Land Use Board of Appeals. A copy of the application, proposed Ordinance, and Staff Report will be available for review seven (7) days before the Hearing at no cost, with copies supplied at a reasonable cost, at the City of La Grande Planning Division, 1000 Adams Avenue, La Grande, Oregon.
