Notice of Budget Committee Hearing

A public meeting of the Budget Committee of the La Grande School District No. 1, Union County, State of Oregon, to discuss the budget for the fiscal year July 1, 2009 to June 30, 2010 will be held in the
La Grande High School Commons.  The meeting will take place on May 27, 2009 at 6:30 PM.  The purpose of the meeting is to receive the budget message and to receive public comment on the budget.  A copy of the budget document may be inspected or obtained at this meeting, or thereafter at the district’s Business Office, located at 708 K Avenue (in the High School at the corner of K Avenue and 2nd Street), Room 12, La Grande, Oregon between the hours of 8 am and 4 pm. 

This is a public meeting where deliberation of the Budget Committee will take place.  Any person may appear at the meeting and discuss the proposed programs with the Budget Committee.

McAlister Road, Island City, OR 97850. The meeting will take place on May 28, 2009, 7:30 P.M. The purpose of the meeting is to receive the budget message and to receive comment from the public on the budget. A copy of the budget document may be inspected or obtained on or after May 26, 2009, at the Island City office,  between the hours of 8:00 A.M. and 5:00 P.M. The previously scheduled budget meeting for May 14 has been rescheduled to May 28. If necessary, an additional budget committee meeting will be scheduled.

Sealed Proposals for the construction of Taxiway A and Taxiway D Rehabilitation, AIP Project No. 3-41-0031-014, grant funding under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARPA), at La Grande/Union County Airport shall be addressed to and received at Union County Commissioner’s office, Attention: Richard Comstock, Public Works Director, 1106 ‘K’ Avenue, La Grande, Oregon 97850, until 2:00 p.m., local time, on the 21st day of May, 2009. The bids will be publicly opened and read at 2:00 p.m. on the same day at the above stated location.
Bids submitted after the above-specified time shall not be received or opened.
A prebid conference will be held at La Grande/Union County Airport Terminal Building, 60175 Pierce Rd, La Grande, Oregon 97850, at 2:00 p.m. on May 12, 2009.
General description of the work is summarized as follows: Taxiway A and Taxiway D, West (Base Bid) Rehabilitation; Taxiway D, Rehabilitation (Additive Alternate A); and Taxiway C, Pavement Depression Repair (Additive Alternate B).
Drawings and Specifications may be examined at Union County, 1106 ‘K’ Avenue, La Grande, Oregon 97850, or at the office of the Engineer, Precision Approach Engineering, Inc., 4575 SW Research Way, Suite 250, Corvallis, Oregon 97333; phone 541/754-0043, on or about May 12, 2009.
A copy of the Documents may be obtained from the engineer’s Corvallis office upon payment of $50 for each Document. Return of the Documents is not required, and the amount paid for the Documents is non-refundable.
The successful Bidder will be required to furnish the necessary additional bond(s) for the faithful performance of the Contract, as prescribed in the Contract Documents.
Bidders on this work will be required to comply with the provisions of the President’s Executive Order No. 11246 concerning equal employment opportunity, including all amendments and requirements issued thereunder. The requirements for Bidders and Contractors under this Order are explained in the Contract Documents.
The Bidder must agree that the requirements and conditions of employment be observed and minimum wage rates be paid under the Contract. The contract is for a public work subject to ORS 279C.800 to 279C.870 or the Davis-Bacon Act (40 U.S.C. 276a).
Union County reserves the right to reject any bid or all bids not in compliance with all prescribed public bidding procedures and requirements and may reject for good cause any or all bids upon a finding of the agency that it is in the public interest to do so, and to postpone the award of the Contract for a period of time which, however, shall not extend beyond 45 days from the bid opening date.
