NOTICE OF LAND USE HEARINGS
City of Union
PLEASE BE ADVISED the Union City Planning Commission will hold a public hearing Wednesday, 21 May, at or shortly after 7 pm., on:
1. Application by Joel and Gayle Knight for a variance approval for set back requirements for a proposed home. The property is in a heavy commercial zone, located in the City of Union, to wit: Tax lot 200, Map 04S 40E 19CD, Union, Oregon currently a bare lot.  Applicable criteria for the Planning Commission’s decision are found in Zoning Ordinance 337, Section 3: Use Zones, Section 4: Exceptions and Variances, Section 5: Conditional Use and Section 7: Notices. 
2. Application by Joel and Gayle Knight for conditional use approval for a home residence in the heavy commercial zone. The property is located in the City of Union, to wit: Tax lot 200, Map 04S 40E 19CD, Union, Oregon, currently a bare lot.  Applicable criteria for the Planning Commission’s decision are in the Zoning Ordinance 337, Sections 3: Use Zone, Section 4: Exceptions and Variances, Section 5: Conditional Use and 7: Notices.
3. Application by Union School District #5 for conditional use approval for a covered play structure in the general commercial zone. The property is located in the City of Union, to wit: Tax lot 6000, Map 04S 40E 19BB, Union, Oregon, currently know as the Hutchison Building playground.  Applicable criteria for the Planning Commission’s decision are in the Zoning Ordinance 337, Sections 3: Use Zone, Section 4: Exceptions and Variances, Section 5: Conditional Use and 7: Notices.
All Hearings will be held in the Leonard Almquist Council Chambers, Union City Hall, 342 S. Main Street.  The chambers are handicapped-accessible.
 A copy of the applications and all documents and evidence relied upon by the applicant are available for inspection at no cost at City Hall during normal business hours (Monday thru Thursday, 10 am to 5:30 pm).  A copy of the staff reports will be available for inspection at no cost 7 days before the hearing, during normal business hours.  Copies, if desired, will be made for reasonable cost, and mailed if requested.
Testimony may be presented orally at the hearing, or by written statement presented at or before the hearing.  Testimony and evidence must be directed toward the criteria, or to other criteria in the Zoning Ordinance or Land Use Plan believed to be applicable to the decision.  Failure to raise an issue with sufficient specificity to afford the Planning Commission the opportunity to respond to the issue will preclude appeals or other claims based on that issue.

Notice of Permit
Amendment R-10052
T-10552 filed by Dee Wayne Johnson (Conley Farms), 61050 Conley Road, Cove, Oregon 97824, proposes a change in point of appropriation and a portion of the place of use under Permit G-12578. The permit allows the use of 4.6 cfs (priority dates May 2 1994 for 2.23 cubic feet per second (cfs) and August 17, 1995 for 2.37 cfs) from a well in Sec. 7, T 3 S, R 40 E, W.M. (Catherine Creek Basin) for irrigation in Sects. 6, 7, and 18. The applicant proposes to change the point of appropriation to a well approximately 6800 feet northwest (Sec. 1, T 3 S, R 39 E, W.M.); and to change the place of use to Sects. 1 and 12, T 3 S, R 39 E, W.M. and within Sects. 6 and 7, T 3 S, R 40 E, W.M. The Water Resources Department has concluded that the proposed permit amendment appears to be consistent with the requirements of ORS 537.211. The last date of newspaper publication is May 10, 2008.

NOTICE OF BUDGET
COMMITTEE MEETING
A public meeting of the Budget Committee of the Union School Dist. 5, Union County, State of Oregon, to discuss the budget for the fiscal year July 1, 2008 to June 30, 2009, will be held at Bobcat Athletic Complex, 800 Dearborn, Union. The meeting will take place on May 20, 2008 at 7:00 P.M. The purpose of the meeting is to receive the budget message and to receive comment from the public on the budget. A copy of the budget document may be inspected or obtained on or after May 20, 2008 at USD Office, 540 S. Main, Union, between the hours of 7:30 A.M. and 4:30 P.M.
This is a public meeting where deliberation of the Budget Committee will take place. Any person may appear at the meeting and discuss the proposed programs with the Budget Committee.
