Katy Nesbitt (Freelance reporter)
Katy is a freelance natural resource and general assignment reporter for The Observer. In 2008, she wrote her first feature for The Observer and from 2009 to 2015 she served as the paper's Wallowa County reporter. In 2015 she ventured out as a full-time freelance journalist and publicist, working for a variety of publications and local nonprofits. Katy grew up in the Oregon Coast Range on the Siuslaw River and the high desert of Lake County where she graduated from high school. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Language in Literature from St. Mary's College of Maryland.
