Join La Grande Main Street effort

The word is spreading quickly among downtown businesses that the annual Main Street meeting is fast approaching. Oct. 29 is the big event, hosted by Mount Emily Alehouse.

While this meeting is especially important to the business community, it is also a time that the community as a whole can show their support for our new Main Street program. Everyone is invited to be a member of La Grande Main Street.

For the first time, memberships will be available at differing levels of support. The levels for the 2010 calendar year are as follows:
Individual: $75 ($60 if paid by Dec. 31, 2009)
Patron: $250
Sponsor: $500-plus
The individual memberships will cover mainly the cost of promotions and operational costs. Individual members will receive a certificate to display in their business. Those wishing to show their support at a higher level will have their names listed in the monthly newsletter and in Main Street promotional materials, and will be able to choose to have their funds added to the new “special projects fund” for future development, like the proposed pocket park on Elm Street or other projects on the wish list.
While Main Street has some Urban Renewal dollars to spend, monies that come into the “special projects fund” will mean we can do more or larger projects and at a more rapid rate.
Yes, we realized that
La Grande Main Street is not the only area that needs funding, but it is certainly on our list of a few of the most important. Please join us in our efforts to revitalize downtown by showing your financial support.
We reap what we sow!
