Remember to vote

Voters have received their ballots. Some of us might have already made our decisions and cast our votes, but chances are that a lot of people still need to weigh in for the May 19 special election.

Although there aren’t many contested races (except for the La Grande School Board), it’s still important that registered voters take the time to vote.

Voters in the La Grande School District will decide three contested board positions. Voters in Union, Cove and North Powder will decide whether a South County Health District should be formed to support the Union Family Clinic. Voters in Wallowa County school districts will also see some contested races.

Ballots are due by 8 p.m. Tuesday. If you are going to mail in your ballot, get them to the post office by Saturday. Otherwise, drop off your ballot at your local city hall or your county clerk’s office.
