Letters and Comments for July 24, 2009
Study issues, communicate To the Editor: Education, employment and health care are issues of great importance. The policies of the last decade are disappointing. Our senators and district representative need to know what we think about these issues. With our present administration, we can move away from rule by fear and superstition. To do this we must do three things. The first is to listen with an open mind when we hear or read comments from the news media or our friends and neighbors, and then question those comments to understand their meaning. The second is to deliberate and consider the justification for those ideas. What is the source of information? Does the information make sense? Who benefits from implementing those ideas? The third is to communicate clearly our ideas and feelings to our senators and district representative in Congress. To act on our behalf they must know what we want. Michael Bell La Grande
