Going above and beyond

To the Editor:

I want to express the gratitude of myself and the entire Oregon FFA Association to La Grande FFA Chapter, La Grande High School, La Grande Middle School, Eastern Oregon University, Eastern Oregon Ag Teachers and all the businesses in the La Grande area.

The Oregon FFA Association held its 81st FFA State Convention in La Grande March 20-23. We understand the difficulty of being the host to a large activity such as our convention and really were impressed by the community and its members for their accepting us into the community.

Everywhere that our FFA members went they were met with smiles and questions of how can we help you.

La Grande and its surrounding communities went beyond all expectations. We not only appreciate the preparations for our convention by the community but were just overwhelmed by the willingness of the community members to take their time to come and assist in judging at the many Career Development Events at the Conference.

Paul Anderes and his fellow Eastern Oregon Ag Teachers can be proud of their work in hosting this convention. The State FFA Association hopes that they will look at hosting the convention again in 2012 or 2014.
