Letters and Comments for May 21, 2009 Each citizen has right to opinion To the Editor: A short note regarding Richard Scott and his recent letter of May 18. If the school board had adopted standards prior to the play’s selection, it’s quite possible that the effect on our community would have been zero. However, whether you are for the play, “Picasso at the Lapin Agile,” or opposed, what Mr. Scott has failed to recognize is each citizen has the right to oppose or agree respectfully. Asking those in the community who pay taxes to keep our religious and conservative beliefs out of “my” school only inflames the many who normally support education. Hopefully in the coming years, when Mr. Scott has a family of his own, he will see both sides clearly.
