OTEC has the spirit
Our hats are off once again to OTEC and its crews who volunteered their free time to help La Grande Main Street (formerly the LG Downtown Developmental Association) put up the Christmas lights along Adams Avenue! It was in the wee hours on Nov. 10, a very brisk morning. In the process, OTEC corrected our blunder for not having the posts cleared of several of the summer season’s banners beforehand. We’ve lost count of the years that OTEC has provided their spirited help with this downtown project. They continue to enhance the good feelings generated throughout the community, especially during the holiday season. Many thanks to OTEC, Nancy Van Sickle and her crews! Doug Campbell, Rod Sands and the rest of the Ground Crew La Grande Helping out
I don’t give my power away to some church. I did give, at Community Bank, five boxes with 10 packets each of instant oatmeal, a five pound bag of rice, eight rolls of toilet paper, 12 individual Nissan ramen, tuna, Spam, tamales, chili and pork and beans for a total of 27 cans of food for those who don’t know of the truth of life. I love life! And, I’m honored to know the truth of life. Thanks that I know who I am. And thanks that I know where God lives! I’m sponsoring one boy, 5 years old now, plus I signed up for another child. And OPB doesn’t know I sent them $200 earlier this year. I was medevaced from Vietnam and spent four months in Tripler Hospital in Hawaii then later on spent 20 to 22 months on Ford Island in Pearl Harbor. Then I retired with six Good Conduct awards, plus two Combat Stars. So, with that said, take care and have a very nice day. Richard Jones La Grande
