Siblings return wallet

To the Editor:

During a recent shopping trip, my granddaughter and I left my wallet with all the important cards and money behind. She thought I had it and I thought she had it — until our doorbell rang. A very nice couple, brother and sister, asked to see me, checked the picture on my driver’s license in my wallet and then returned it to me. I was stunned. I thanked both of them but never asked for their names.

I want to say thanks to both of them again. They saved me from a lot of big problems if that wallet had gotten into the hands of someone not so honest and caring. They are part of the wonderful people of this great community of La Grande.
