Cover reunions

To the Editor:

I was disappointed that The Observer didn’t run coverage and pictures of the La Grande High School Class of 1961’s 50th class reunion that was held Aug. 6-7. I mentioned this oversight to one of the Observer reporters and although notices of planning meetings had been in the paper, apparently no one notified the paper. I consider 50-year reunions to be significant.

We had classmates come from all over the world, including South Africa, and from the East Coast, the heartland and more local folks also. Significant, indeed!

Perhaps someone at The Observer should stay in touch with the alumni group of LHS, which has notification of all class reunions, including the 55th reunion being held this weekend, Aug.

19-20. I know that because my sister, who lives in Montana, is coming for that event.

It would be nice if the paper could get ahold of some pictures of the 1961 class reunion, and run an article, even though it would be a bit belated.
