Middleton, Taylor
We all know that times are changing, costs are going up because of the oil companies gouging us at the pump and it’s not going to get any better. The cities, counties and states keep raising prices also. The city of Union is planning on adding a user fee to the city water and sewer bill. This is supposed to be for the Union Fire Department to help update and replace worn out or broken equipment. The fee that has been discussed is anywhere from $1.75 to $5 or more. This sounds like a good idea if that is where all the money will be going. The budget has been passed with all wages worked in, so I see no reason that if the city council passes this addition that all the monies should go to the fire department and used for the purpose for which it was asked, and not into wages or benefits for city employees. Your voice is needed to see that the Union City Council is fair, so be heard or you may not like what they do and then it will be too late. Think about this and come to the council meetings and be heard. Don’t let them tell you. You tell them. It is your right. Dick Middleton Union Don’t even think about taking out such a good comic as Blondie. I don’t know why when they have a good comic, someone gets the idea maybe we should take it out.
