A friendly ambiance
In regards to the article in Wednesday’s paper concerning music copyrights, as a writer, I too understand the need to protect the rights of artists. However, I agree with Mr. Feldman’s concern about the rate schedule asked by the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers to allow local musicians to perform at the farmers market in La Grande. We are a small town and should not be billed at the same rate as larger cities. Many of us look forward to the farmers market every week. The congenial atmosphere and lively music are what makes a trip to Max Square so special. It is the combination of vendors, shoppers and musicians that gives La Grande its friendly ambiance. Let’s not change it. Constance J. Whitworth La Grande
