More efficient
It is always interesting to me to compare the money it takes for government to perform a service versus the private sector. Just recently, ODFW was collaring more wolves when a young female wolf died in the process. It is ironic to see the killer of the latest wolf may be ODFW, at a cost of probably $25,000 or more of taxpayer money. Last year, we heard a collared wolf was shot and killed from the Wenaha pack. Mind you, this wolf was killed at the cost of a mere 50 cents. Just shows how much more economically efficient the private sector is than the government. By the way, Wally Sykes, do I get a $10,000 reward for turning in ODFW for killing one of your wolves? I would take your money and put it in the fund for cattlemen who have lost livestock killed by the wolves.
Joseph Room enough for both?
Here is your chance to put your money where your mouth is. I would be more than happy to sell you my cows and lease you my Bin Laden pasture. You will turn out April 15 and stay there until June 1. You will check your cows every seven to 10 days like we used to, not every day like we have to now. You will have no other income except that from the sale of your calves and after that, I want you to stand up to tell us there is room for cows and wolves. And by the way, your spring pasture is located next to Karl Patton’s. There should be no problem for you guys since you know the two can co-mingle. I will be waiting for you to purchase these cows.
