Union’s Fiorito leads local field at Enterprise

ENTERPRISE — Mac-Hi took home the Enterprise kickoff Classic team title Saturday.

The Pioneers finished with 263 points.

 

Wallowa finished fourth with 68 points.

Union (58), Enterprise (44), Elgin (22) and Imbler (11) also competed at the event.

Union’s Sam Fiorito took home the lone first-place trophy for Union and Wallowa counties.

Jon Cox took home a second-place trophy at 135 pounds. The Union wrestler lost to Andrew Porter of Baker.

Fioritio defeated Angel Palacious of Mac-Hi in the 285-pound weight class.

Wallowa was led by Colby Beyers who finished second at 119 pounds, losing to Devin Thorn of Pine Eagle in the finals.

Enterprise took a second-place finish.

Brock Hayes fell to Patrick Sheets of Mac-Hi at 125 pounds.

Wayne Luaricella paced Elgin with a second-place finish at 189 pounds.

A.J. Plummer of Imbler finished fourth at 125 pounds.

The area teams will travel to La Grande for the Muilenburg tournament Friday at 4 p.m.
