Newcomb tabbed as All-American

KANSAS CITY, Mo. —The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics has announced the 2013-14 Division II Women’s Basketball All-America Teams. Eastern Oregon University senior Brittney Newcomb was named second team All-American.
 

Mountaineers announce another signing

The Eastern Oregon University men’s basketball team announced another signing for the 2014-2015 season today. Caulin Bakalarski will be the newest member to basketball program.

 

WOMEN'S COLLEGE BASKETBALL: EOU falls in opening round

Free throws typically tell the story of a close game, and the Eastern Oregon University women’s basketball team’s opening game at the NAIA Division II national tournament is no different in Sioux City, Iowa today. 

Trailing 66-65 with four seconds left in the game, junior Kassy Larson went to the free-throw line for the Mountaineers. Both shots bounced off the rim and to the floor without going through the net, ending the Mountaineers season. Southwestern of Kansas iced the game with a free throw, making the final 67-65.

 

EOU takes trophies at NAIA

GENEVA, Ohio  Eastern Oregon University men’s and women’s track and field team made the most of the second day at the NAIA Indoor National Championships. The Mountaineers  claimed one National Championship, as Talitha Fagen won the women’s pole vault and EOU also claimed four All-American honors on the day.

Talitha Fagen claimed the first NAIA Championship by winning the women’s pole vault. Fagen cleared a height of 12 feet, 6-3/4 inches to claim first place. In the process of winning the national title, Fagen broke her school record by 5-1/4  inches.

 

EOU falls to Raiders in tourney semifinals

The Eastern Oregon University women’s basketball team had its season come to an end on an off-shooting night in the second half.  

The Southern Oregon University Raiders shot 49 percent from the floor for the game during an 80-62 win against the Mountaineers in the semifinals of the conference tournament Friday.
