CLASS 1A SOFTBALL: Union/Cove advances to semis

The Union/Cove softball team advanced to the semifinals of the OSAA Class 1A state tournament with a 5-0 win over Prospect Charter/Butte Falls.
"We had multiple opportunities to put more runs across the plate today, but we didn't take them," Lady Cats head coach Paul Phillips said. "Defensively we had a couple mistakes, but I'm happy with the win. We're moving on and that's all that matters."
With the win, the Lady Cats will face either Western Mennonite at home, or North Douglas/Elkton on the road on Tuesday at a time yet to be determined.
