ONTARIO — The Union/Cove baseball team went 1-2 at the Treasure Valley Invite over the weekend.
The Bobcats fell to Ontario (9-3) and Cascade (11-4), but pulled out a win over Burns (11-10).
In the opening loss to Ontario, Brax Anderson had two RBIs, while Kaleb Poor had the other Bobcat hit.
Union/Cove came alive against Burns, piling up 11 runs on 10 hits. Poor drove in four runs, while Ty Coon had three RBIs.
Dalton Opie got the win, striking out two in four innings of work.
Cascade got the better of the Bobcats in the final game of the tournament, as the Cougars outhit Union/Cove 9-7.
Anderson and Opie both had two hits for the Bobcats, while Poor took the loss, striking out five in 2-1/3 innings.
Coon had six punch-outs in 3-2/3 innings of relief work.
Union/Cove travels to Milton-Freewater today for a doubleheader against 4A McLoughlin.
First pitch is scheduled for 4 p.m.
