Despite the Blue Mountains disappearing behind black clouds, the Enterprise girls golf team finally finished its round.
The Outlaws finished fifth at the La Grande Invite Tuesday at La Grande Country Club.
Junior Heather Bruce led the way with an 89.
McKennon Cimmiyoti of Pendleton, the seventh ranked player by the Oregon Junior Golf Association, won the tournament with an 83.
Pendleton also won the tournament with a team score of 417.
La Grande finished fourth with a 441.
Miranda McCarthy finished with a 117 — second on the Enterprise team.
“We are pretty inexperienced,” Outlaws head coach Mike Crawford said. “If the weather was better we take a few strokes off. Still, it was a really good outing. Our goal is to be competitive at the district tournament. We’re on our way.”
Enterprise will host the 2A Invitational at the Wildhorse golf course at noon Friday.
La Grande team results were not available, and will run in Thursday’s edition.
