This year's Catherine Creek Rodeo Court should look familiar: two were on last year's court.

Holly Hardesty and Laura Osburn were on the 2001 court, and Amanda Kullman is the third member of the court.

All are vying for queen at tonight's coronation.

Hardesty, of Baker City, will be a junior in the fall. She is just starting bareback riding.

"I just had a lot of fun last year and going to a lot of different places," she said.

Hardesty said the recent St. Paul Rodeo was a great experience.

"I think it's kind of fascinating to go to all these places I've never been before," she said.

Hardesty loves horses and has 10 of them. She has been riding since she was little.

"Fascinating animals, quick learners, um, I don't know, they're just beautiful animals," she said.

Osburn, of Union, will be a junior this fall. She doesn't hide her enthusiasm for the court.

"I just love it," she said. It was a "wonderful experience."

"(Rodeo is an) awesome sport, I love being around it," she said.

She is involved in FBLA and 4-H. She is the co-captain of the varsity cheerleaders and will be taking an English course at Eastern Oregon University this fall.

Osborn has been riding horses since she was 2.

She will be riding her dad's horse, She'll Fly Away, because it is quick and "more easy to work with," she said.

Osburn's horse at 4-H doesn't run as fast, she said.

Kullman, of Union, is the final member on the court. She will be a freshman this fall at Treasure Valley Community College in Ontario.

In high school, Kullman participated in FFA, drama, was a kindergarten teacher's aide, played basketball and soccer and was on the dance team.

She has lived on a ranch throughout her life.

She said her new horse, Smoky, has problems standing still.

"That's frustrating," she said.

Kullman enjoyed the St. Paul Rodeo, and said Smoky performed fine.

She will be majoring in pre-veterinarian science in college.
