CJD RODEO PAYS OUT MORE THAN $41,000

JOSEPH — Caldwell's Kyle Joslin was the big winner at this weekend's Chief Joseph Days, garnering $2,255.25 for a first-place bull riding score of 86.

Joslin, the No. 15 bull rider on the Columbia River Circuit, picked up his 86 early during the rodeo, on Friday night, but no one was able to beat his ride the rest of the weekend.

Chief Joseph Days paid out a total of $41,872.91 in winnings.

Winning the bareback event was Cody Jessee of Prineville with an 81. He won $1,929.33 for his efforts, and helped out his No. 6 ranking in the Columbia River Circuit.

The saddle bronc was won by Shawn Morehead of Corrine, Utah. He scored a 78 and won $1,908.96.

There was a tie in the team roping event. The team of Ty Bowman (Cheney, Wash.) and Dave Inman (Colfax, Wash.) tied with the duo of Shane Erickson (Yelm, Wash.) and Will Schmidt (Benton City, Wash.) with a score of 13.6 seconds. The quartet shared a prize of $755.38.

Erickson, the top all-around cowboy in the Columbia River Circuit, won again for the calf roping, garnering $970.48 for his time of 19.9 seconds.

Winning the barrel racing was Kelly Kaminski of Bellville, Texas, with a time of 17.25 seconds. She earned $1,723.68. Kaminksi also won the barrel racing at this year's Elgin Stampede.
