Cougars fall to Echo in opener

WALLOWA — Wallowa opened the season with a 50-22 loss to Echo Friday.

Travis Haga had 135 yards rushing, 52 yards receiving and a touchdown.

Chandler Burns finished with 100 yards on the ground, while Chaz Murray had 65 yards receiving a score.

Spencer Shelton and Koby Frye had 35 yards and 30 yards rushing, respectively. 

Noah Allen had 46 yards receiving and two interceptions on defense.

The Cougars forced six turnovers.

“We did really good,” Wallowa head coach Bill Robb said. “It went way better than I thought it would.”
