The No. 23-ranked Eastern Oregon women's basketball team is rolling.

The Mountaineers improved to 11-1 in the Cascade Collegiate Conference after their 71-54 victory over Warner Pacific Friday.

The Mount-aineers won their 10th straight to remain on top of the conference.

Whether they are at the top or the bottom of the conference, every team is now aiming for Eastern, she said.

"We have a huge bulls eye (on us)," Eastern coach Anji Weissenfluh said.

The Mountaineers cranked it up a notch in the second half Friday.

"We had several pretty plays tonight," Weissenfluh said.

The game was fairly close at the half, with Warner Pacific taking a 31-30 lead into the break.

But, Eastern began taking control when the Mountaineers' Christie Weaver passed to Cory Nelson who passed back to Michelle Kinley for an easy lay-up to give Eastern a 43-39 lead with 15:31 remaining in the game.

Tricia Haddock almost lost her dribble and still hit a 3-pointer to put the Mountaineers in front 50-42.

Kinley's back-to-back baskets put the Mountaineers ahead 56-44 with 10:15 remaining to take command.

The Knights got as close as nine points twice the rest of the way.

"They're bringing their game," Weissenfluh said about the Mountaineers.

Kinley, who finished with 13 points, said the Mountaineers picked it up in the second half.

"We put on a little show," she said.

Weaver, who finished with nine points, said it is starting to get emotional because the team is so senior-heavy.

The Knights made six 3-pointers in the first half. Joy Best finished with 14 points including four 3-pointers to pace the Knights.

Haddock had a "good solid game," Weissenfluh said. She finished with 18 points on 7-for-8 shooting including four 3-pointers. She also had eight assists.

Cory Nelson scored 14 points. Jamie Jo Cant, Candice Davis and Kinley had seven rebounds each.

Next up for the Mountaineers (17-2 overall) is a home game against Cascade today.

"We'll take it one game at a time and go with the flow," Weaver said.
