ENTERPRISE GETS TWO LEAGUE WINS

IMBLER Enterprise kicked its slump and won two volleyball matches Saturday here at the Wapiti League Tournament.
After starting 0-2 in league play, Enterprise, the defending conference champions, beat Joseph, 15-8, 15-9, and Imbler, 15-3, 15-7.
This was the first day of league competition our bodies and minds came together, Enterprise coach Lisa Farwell said.
For the day, Ashley Anderson had 14 kills, Cami Conrad added 17 assists, and Michelle Minalia went 14 for14 serving for Enterprise (9-3 overall, 2-2 league).
Imbler beat Elgin, 15-3, 15-13, in the tournaments opener.
Tiffany Rasmussen paced Imbler (6-9, 2-2) with 10 kills and went 6 for 6 serving with two aces against Elgin. Rachel Lowe and Mary Zukin were 8 for 8 serving again Elgin, and Amy Clerget was 6 for 6 with two aces against Enterprise.
Elgin (5-7, 1-3) recorded its first league win by beating Joseph, 10-15, 15-5, 15-6.
Amber Looslie and DeLeah Wiles had five kills apiece against Joseph.
On Friday, Enterprise travels to Wallowa, Elgin is at Joseph, and Imbler hosts Pine-Eagle.
Wallowa last of the Wapiti unbeatens
NYSSA Wallowa used two more wins Saturday to remain the last team in the Wapiti League with an unblemished record.
The Cougars (13-4, 4-0) beat Pine-Eagle, 15-9, 15-9, and Nyssa, 15-5, 15-9.
Against Pine-Eagle, Amanda Wilson recorded 11 kills and Laura Lewis had 10 digs. Holli Barton added eight digs.
For the day, Barton, Lewis and Lynique Oveson were 100 percent in serving.
Union (11-3, 4-1), which beat Nyssa, 15-3, 15-2, and Pine-Eagle, 15-7, 15-9, is tied with Wallowa at the top of the Wapiti standings with four wins, too.
Melissa Helmer led Union with 16 assists, Colbi Robertson went 15 of 16 hitting with four kills, and Brittany Wright had a solid game defensively.
Cove, PV sweep foes at OOL Tournament
PRAIRIE CITY Cove and Powder Valley completed two-match sweeps Saturday to remain the top teams in the Old Oregon League.
The Leopards and Badgers met with the other four teams in the OOL here for a league tourney.
Cove (15-0, 5-0) beat Jordan Valley, 15-13, 15-0, and Prairie City, 15-8, 15-9.
Powder Valley (7-2, 3-1) defeated Adrian, 15-6, 15-6, and Crane, 15-11, 15-3.
On Friday, Prairie City is at Powder Valley and Cove hosts Arlington in non-league action.
La Grande drops
pair of GOL matches
Burns and Grant Union dropped the La Grande Tigers toward the back of the Greater Oregon League volleyball standings Saturday.
Grant Union won Saturdays first match, 9-15, 15-9, 15-5, and Burns won the nightcap 15-11, 15-8.
La Grande (5-9, 2-4 GOL) has a busy week. The Tigers visit Pendleton on Tuesday, host Baker on Thursday and host their invitational Saturday.
