ENTERPRISE GOLF BOYS AND GIRLS WIN DISTRICT

PENDLETON — The Enterprise boys and girls golf teams won their respective district tournaments Tuesday.

The Enterprise boys won the Special District 4 tournament with a 640 at the two-day event. Kevin Gomes and Jake Thompson were co-district medalists with 159s. Gomes shot 79 Tuesday, while Thompson shot 77.

Nathan Slinker shot 78, while Grady Rawls shot 79 Tuesday. Derek Huff shot an 83.

The top two teams and four individuals head to the 2A state boys tournament in Corvallis May 19-20. Echo was second in the tournament.

The Wallowa boys ended up fifth. Ryan Harshfield shot a 90, Luke Survis shot 95, Nathan Swift 98, Jeremy McCulloch 94 and Chris Jones 101.

The Union boys were eighth. Josh Smith shot 93, Gavin Carman had 87, Rudy Turner had 98, Ronnie Cross shot 104 and Micah Hacker 105.

Imbler had an incomplete team. Chase Kirkland shot 93, Max Nielson shot 135 and Mike Burry shot 126.

Enterprise girls win by 78 strokes

The Enterprise girls shot 809 for the two-day Special District 9 tournament. Ontario shot 887.

The top two teams and five individuals head to the 3A/2A/1A state tournament in Redmond May 19-20.

Ontario's Anna Jaramillo was district medalist with 163.

Enterprise's Kayla Miller was second with 177, Jessica Marcum was third with 194, and Kayla Stoffel was fourth with 197.

Enterprise's Lacey Nobles shot 118 Tuesday and Tera Phinney 125.

Wallowa was led by Holli Barton with a 107. She was one spot out of qualifying for state. "We got close," said coach Marvin Gibbs.

Angela Bombaci shot a 108, Leah Pringle a 130, Crista Bomberger 161 and Taryn Harris a 164.
