UNION The first high school golf tournament at Buffalo Peak Golf Course went Enterprises way Friday.

Led by Kyle Crawfords 5-over-par 77, Enterprise won with a 16-stroke lead over Riverside.

Enterprises Austin Livingston finished the 18-hole course one stroke behind Crawford, with Riversides Kyle Carson in third at 79.

Riverside did win the girls half of the tournament. Shannon Wetherell shot an 86 to lead the Pirates to a team score of 377.

The tournament featured 78 boys and girls golfers, varsity and junior varsity, and the course held up well, Union coach Jim Martin said.

It was really nice to host an event. We have a great course. Were really proud of it, Martin said.

Enterprise, the defending Class 2A state champions, had four of the top 10 golfers. Cory Siebe and Andy Stein both shot 85s and tied for eighth.

Imblers Sam Grove was seventh with an 83. Imbler was fifth at 385, 14 strokes ahead of Wallowa. Union was seventh at 453.

Wallowas top golfer was Micah Pringle, who shot a 91. Unions Jordi Steenstra broke 100 for the first time at Buffalo Peak, shooting a 98.

Enterprises top golfer on the girls side was Tasha Marcum at 100. Wallowa was led by Camilla Swifts 106.

Enterprise next competes Tuesday in Lewiston, Idaho, then the team joins Imbler and Wallowa at the Small School Invitational at Echo Hills Golf Course on Friday.
