EOU CLOSES YEAR WITH SPLIT

The Eastern Oregon Mountaineers ended their baseball season with a series split against St. Martins.

St. Martins won the opening games of both Saturdays and Sundays doubleheaders, 16-4 on Saturday and 7-1 on Sunday. But Eastern came back both days, earning a 5-2 decisions in each days second game.

Robert Dorchak and Devron Carriere each hit solo home runs in those wins, Dorchaks on Saturday and Carrieres on Sunday.

Carriere finished the season with a team-high five home runs.

Tommy Porter had three doubles and two RBIs in Saturdays win, and Carriere and Matt Morley each added a pair of hits.

Ryan Banks went the distance on the mound for the victory.

In Sundays win, Gary Hopf had two hits and two RBIs. Izzie Acosta and Dorchak also had two hits apiece.

Eastern finished the season 8-30 overall, 7-24 in NAIA Region I games.
