EOU men keep I-84 Cup, can clinch title Saturday
|
CALDWELL, Idaho — EOU is one win away from its first Collegiate Conference basketball championship in school history. With an 85-77 victory at College of Idaho on Tuesday, EOU maintains the I-84 Cup against their conference rivals, as well. The Mounties (23-4, 16-3) can clinch the Cascade Conference title on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. versus Northwest Christian College at Quinn Coliseum. Leading the way Tuesday night was Mark Carollo (25 points, eight rebounds), Josh Landsverk (16 points, seven rebounds) and Paul Carollo (12 points, 14 rebounds, five assists). A victory Saturday night — which happens to be Senior Night, as well — will secure the No. 1 seed in the Cascade Conference tournament. It would also earn an automatic berth into the national tournament. “We haven’t talked about it a lot to this point, but we probably will these next few days,” EOU coach Ryan Looney said. “It’s a pretty resourceful tool to use for your team to play hard. “It should be a pretty emotional night.” |
