EOU softball sweeps

Call it a Walla Walla Wallop.

EOU softball swept its doubleheader with visiting Walla Walla University, 12-0 (5 inn.), 13-12 (8 inn.). 

Twenty hits. Twenty-five runs. And several Mounties standing out at the plate.

Lydia Holm and Megan Platz each had 3 RBIs in the opener, while Megan Monaghan had 2 RBIs. And earning the win on the mound was Melodee Mildenberger, who limited batters to one hit through four innings in this shortened game. 

In the sequel, EOU outslugged its opponent, led by Holm (3-for-4, 5 RBIs), Kimmy Peterson (2-for-4, 2 RBIs). And it was Monaghan (2-for-4, 2 RBIs) who ended the game with her single in the eighth inning. 

The Mounties play Saturday at The College of Idaho at 1 p.m. MT.
