Eastern Oregon announces signing of 19 football recruits

Eastern Oregon University football head coach, Tim Camp, announced the signing of 19 recruits.

"This is such an exciting time of year for us as we bring the next generation of Mountaineer football players to our campus and community,” Camp said.

"We were able to address some immediate needs on our football team with the change in staff and schemes with this year's incoming class."

The signing class includes eight skill players, four combo players, six bigs and one specialist.

The seven transfers are expected to bring valuable experience to the roster immediately and will help fill some of the void left by Eastern's graduating class.

“We have added some quality young men who are great student-athletes and will be excellent representatives of Eastern Oregon University both on and off the field,” Camp said.

Coach Camp and the Mountaineers' staff begin spring practice on April 9, capped off with the spring game on May 15.

All practices are held on the EOU campus between Hunt Hall and Daugherty Hall, and are open to the public.

The official practice schedule will be posted on EOUSports.com once the date is finalized.

"Our goal this recruiting season as a staff was to share our vision of the football program and our university with these fine young men in order to give them a comprehensive understanding of what EOU and the Mountaineer football football program had to offer," Camp said.

"We were very excited to present them with the incredible opportunity they had to meet their academic and athletic goals here at Eastern."

EOU is coming off an 8-3 season.

The 2012 season begins Aug. 1, at Montana Tech in Butte, Mont.
